Poggio Di Mezzane is the work of Bruno Cordero, a trophy winning winemaker based at the Terre da Vino cellar in Piedmont, where he also crafts top notch Barolo. This wine takes its name from the position of the vineyards from which the fruit is sourced – in the middle (mezzo) of the slope. The vines are very well drained and have good exposure to the sun, while temperatures are warm enough to ripen the grapes fully, but still cool so as to retain plenty of elegant acidity.Cortese is the grape of Gavi, one unique to Italy and grown almost exclusively in this area. Its flavours are delicate with superb crispness and structure. With its Chablis style minerally notes, this wondefully elegant white makes a superb partner for seafood dishes.
